Abstract

This study was carried out at Valley View University to determine whether the current state of staffing (non- teaching) is at optimum level and the optimum number of non- teaching staff the university can accommodate given the resources available at anytime.

The type of research is quantitative and secondary data were obtained from Valley View University Accounts Office. After collecting the data Linear Programming Model specifically simplex approach was developed and tested using the data.

Analysis of data using simplex optimization model indicated that the university can run for five years with a maximum total budget of Gh¢ 8,555,943.99 if 118 non- teaching staff are maintained.
