Abstract

Crime is a varied human activity that is intended to suit the needs of others. It is related to production, and consequently to the costs, market and efficient allocation of resources. Thus, it is an economic activity and may be subject to scientific analysis. This type of activity is harmful to society, which is made up of a collection of human beings and human groups. Therefore, it is penalized by the state, something that decisively impacts the allotment of resources of the criminal activity.

It falls within the areas of microeconomics and macroeconomics, with the subject, the company, the monetary base and supply and interest rate all intervening in it. This analysis requires a neoclassical approach.
