Abstract

Toxicology is now poised to have a leading role in bio-medical research. The activities of toxicologists are enormously important both for development of safe products and for sound environmental and health regulatory systems. Toxicogenomics is a scientific field that aims to study the complex interaction between the cell's genome, chemicals in the environment, and disease. Toxicogenomics provides a toolbox of new technologies that can be used to address some of the intractable problems that have long characterized field. A successful toxicogenomics database will serve as a repository for data sharing and as a resource for analysis, data mining and product safety evaluation.
