Abstract

Corn is a quite responsive plant to nutrient excess and deficiency. Sulfur is one of essential nutrients needed by plants to support its growth and its yield. This research serves a purpose to comprehend the corn response to sulfur fertilization indicated by its growth and its yield. Pertiwi corn variety as the research subject. The research was performed by using randomized groups design repeated 3 times. The treatment consisted of 5 fertilizer combinations and sulfur fertilizer doses. The research result indicates that Pertiwi corn variety is highly responsive to sulfur fertilization. Sulfur fertilization influences Pertiwi corn variety’s growth and its yield A dosage of 250 kg/ha sulfur fertilizer, yields the best result in influencing its growth and its yield. Fertilization with a dosage of 250 kg/ha sulfur fertilizer yields Pertiwi corn variety with 19.2 cm corncob length, 7.9 cm corncob diameter and 9.7 ton/ha production (dry corn grain weight).
