Abstract

The present research is conducted on Job Preference and Satisfaction in Nursing Sector. As we know that today in India nursing profession is giving a huge employment to the young nurses in the healthcare sector. The demand of health professionals is increasing day by day due to large population in our country. To know the preferences of nurses to join nursing profession, a self designed questionnaire was prepared in this context and data was collected from the government hospitals of Himachal Pradesh, where the workforce of nursing personnel is more than one hundred. For this research a sample size of two hundred nurses was taken. It is also observed that the present study envisages assisting the various health agencies, to meet out the requirement of job satisfaction of nurses in the nursing sector. For the analysis of data both parametric and non parametric statistical techniques were used with help of SPPS version 16.0. In this research the results are based on the opinion of respondent nurses working in nursing sector. Further it is observed that majority of nursing personnel are choosing this profession as a career due to large opportunities of growth in term of monetary benefits and exposure. It is also observed that nursing sector has never been affected by recession.
