In vivo trials were conducted to identify best source of resistance for breeding programme against collar rot disease caused by Phytophothora megasperma in peas. Twenty three peas genotypes were screened. The crop was inoculated with sporangia twice during flowering and pod formation stages. Among the test entries none was found immune or highly resistant and highly susceptible against disease. However, 4 lines/varieties i.e. No.2001-40, Isprit, 2001-60 and Green arrow were categorized as resistant. Twelve test entries exhibited moderately resistant while remaining germplasm was rated as moderately susceptible. The disease mortality ranged from 10 to 35%.
